Description

While out on a shoot of a lighthouse the other day , I became intrigued by the ice sculptures being formed by the waves crashing on the breakwall and covering the plant life..this is one of many shots I took that day. I hope you enjoy it. As alwys comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Nice composition and lighting create an interesting mood. Some areas could benefit from a slight increase in contrast, so that ice covered plants pop against ice from which they arise. Dark blues that make up background pull attention from ice covered plants, if it were blurred then there may not have the pull as is does now. Well done.

My first thought was a group of people huddled around, eventually frozen..lol This is beautiful..I'm surprised that you can see the plants so well through the thick ice. The ice floor just wows me for some reason.
You got my top:)
I'd love to see the other photos you took of this.

Awesome.

For me it looks like one of those ancient towns built inside huge caves, with some alien family walking down the street :).

I envy you to find such a beautiful manifestation of nature, but I know the sacrifice you've made. A photo session in those temperature is a real challenge. I know by experience, my finger were numb when shooting this: Transformation by  Azurite

I love this. Perfect exposure, a wonderful composition, and a great and interesting subject. We're finally seeing some ice here in New England after a warm start to winter.
