Description

Thanks to Kris Lamba, (Mr Magoo) I now know this little fellow to be a Green Anole. It is the only anole species native to the United States. All others found here have descended from released pets or came in cargo holds of ships. I spotted him in a tree near my daughters pool.

Canon EOS 20D w Canon EF 400mm L 5.6 lens, ISO 200, f 5.6 @ 1/400 sec.

Fantastic creature!

Wow!

I believe it is a lizard. </Holmes>

Seriously though, awesome capture. The colors and lighting really go well together, and the composition is top notch. Ooh and the crispiness.

It looks like a Green Anole to me. I'd say I'm 95% sure thats what it is anyway :)
Cool capture and a nice example.

Mr Magoo: Thanks Kris. I'm sure you are correct. After googling "Green Anole" and viewing other photos, I am certain too. Since they are native to Georgia (where I took the shot) it makes perfect sense. :)

Very nice. I think the focus should have been a little better on the eye, but otherwise a solid shot. Nice comp, colours and details. Just as an experiment too, you might try cropping off the bottom third of the photo to see if you like it any better... dunno...

I would love to see the focus on the eye, like Trevor mentioned.

I love the color palette of this piece John. I've seen these lizards before when I visited Florida, They're sometimes green and sometimes brown. Like chameleons ,,, they can change their color to match their environment.

Nice photo.

Nice capture and composition. I agree with Trevor that it could be a little sharper on the eye. I disagree with Mert that it 's an ugly creature.
